2010 FIFA World Cup Drinking Game

I know there are a couple variations of FIFA World Cup Drinking Games out there right now, but most of them are not realistic. Chances are you would be going back and forth to the bathroom by halftime for having too many drinks instead of enjoying the game with your buddies.

Before the start of the game, you need to declare a team you’re going to root for. Every time these occasions are called AGAINST your team, you gotta take some sips off your drinks:

1. Offside- 1 sip
2. Corner kick- 1 sip
3. Free kick- 2 sips
4. Penalty kick (excluding shootouts)-  1 SHOT. If the kicker did not score, the people who root for the kicker’s team have to take 1 SHOT.
5. Yellow card- 2 sips + 2 sips (for the free kick)
6. Ignore the yellow card rule if a player is given his second yellow card in one game and resulting in a red card,  proceed to the red card rule.
7. Red card- 1 SHOT + follow the free kick rule OR the penalty kick rule.
8. Dive- 0.5 sip
9. Goal against (excluding penalty kick goals+shootout goals)- 2 sips
10. Goal for (excluding penalty kick goals+shootout goals)- 1 sip

Special occasions:

1. Shootouts- 2 sips every time your team miss a goal.
2. Every time the announcer mention some variation of “Bend it like Beckham” – 3 sips.
3. Every time the announcer compare soccer (moves and players) to another North American pro-sports (including players)- 3 sips.
   e.g. Lionel Messi is like the Lebron James of soccer, The sliding tackle technique in soccer is very similar to the sliding in baseball, this stadium can fill in as many people as the new Dallas Cowboys’ stadium.
