Jessie’s Closet: Top 5 Delicious Skin Boosting Foods

Let’s face it, who doesn’t want to kill two birds with one stone by eatting foods that are nourishing for both the skin AND the taste buds?? Here are some of my favourite foods that also contribute to the vitality of your skin and also taste delicious!
1. Dark Chocolate
Dark chocolate (with 70% or more cocoa content than regular chocolate) has a high level of antioxidants which protects the skin from aging – giving it a smoother feel for longer! Now before you go and devour that whole box of chocolates, remember that moderation is key!!
2. Berries
This includes anything that ends with a “berry,” including strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, cranberries…you name it! These delicious “superfoods” are loaded with antioxidants, which will help rid your body of toxins and free radicals. This in turn leads to suppler and younger looking skin!
3. Seafood – Salmon, Fresh Tuna, Mackerel, Sardines
This one is for all you seafood lovers out there! These “oily” fish types contain essential omega 3 fatty acid, which is a form of “healthy fat” that helps to unclog your pores, decrease inflammation and improve the skin’s elasticity!
4. Avocado
Avocados are high in monounsaturated fats, which is the kind of fat that is high in omega 3 fatty acids. They also contain potent levels of vitamins C and E which have anti-aging properties. Avocado smoothies anyone?
5. Yogurt
The protein from this dairy product will help your skin become firmer and therefore more resistant to lines. Also, the probiotics will help clean your gut, leading to the flushing out of toxins and therefore a brighter and healthier complexion! Greek yogurt is especially healthy, because its protein content is double that of regular yogurt.
