Jessie’s Closet: 3 Awesome Beauty Secrets You May Not Know About

Hey guys! I know I havent posted in a while (been really busy with my non-blogging life), but I WILL post more often, I PROMISE! And if there are any particular topics that you want me to post about, feel free to comment below or Tweet @Jessie_Uni! OK…so here we go:

1. DD Creams

Yes, you heard me right, DD creams! Now, we all know what BB creams are: a multi-functional light textured foundation like cream that protects and conceals blemishes. BB creams originated from Asia, being the secret of many Asian celebrities (especially Korean popstars) having “perfect looking skin” without too much makeup on. It wasn’t until quite recently that BB creams became a staple on the makeup counters in North America. Shortly after they became popular, companies came out with “CC creams”, and now we have “DD creams”!

These DD “Dynamic Do-all” creams from Julep claim to not only cover and protect with SPF like BB and CC creams do, they also improve skin over time. I’m very curious to try it out, I wonder when will “ZZ creams” come out? : )

2. Feathered Lips

So apparently these lips are a new trend right now…the kind of gradient effect (or feathered look).

Here is my attempt at it

It’s really simple, you just use your fingers (clean!) to smudge the outline of your lips with powder to get that feathered effect, then add your lipstick to the inner lip.

3. Random Brow Tip

Our brows are the frames of our face, and changing them up can change the way you look by quite a bit! Probably more than what people would normally think!

Here is a random tip that you may not have known before: If your hair colour is blonde, your brow should be 2 shades darker than your hair. If you have dark hair like me, your brow colour should be 2 shades lighter. It sounds simple, but it makes a world of difference!
