17 Older Black People That Look Younger Than Lorde [Gallery]

During her performance at the 2014 Grammys, many people got a good look at 17 year old songstress, Lorde (Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor), for the first time without photo shop or special lighting. To our surprise, New Zealand’s latest (only?) rising star doesn’t look like she’s 17 at all, and despite the make-up and hair, looked like a woman of 30 or 40 (or 50).

We’ll never be sure why Lorde looks so damn old (maybe Madonna is siphoning her youth?), but what many have noted is that there are many older Black celebrities that seem to have not aged at all, while Lorde made her debut looking like a Walmart greeter. Old People That Look Younger Than Lorde is a Tumblr blog dedicated to demonstrating adage “Black don’t crack,” in direct comparison to Lorde’s seemingly aged visage.
