10 Awesome Upcoming Video Games Previewed At E3 2014 [Video]

At last year’s E3, Sony’s PlayStation won the fans over with the release of the PlayStation 4. This year, however, was a chance for the other companies to redeem themselves (we’re look at you Microsoft). Although, there weren’t many new additions to the consoles themselves, there was an amazing show of new games that will be released within the next year.
I have compiled a list of the 1o games I felt were the most exciting out of this year’s crop. If you think I missed any, then write a comment and tell me what your favourite ten games were.
I would also like to give a shout-out to Ubisoft’s presenter, Aisha Tyler, for giving zero fucks while presenting. She went so far as to comment, “Apparently it’s 420 in this bitch,” during her presentation, which is unconventional to say the least.
10. Shape Up (Xbox One Exclusive)
Ubisoft developers have created a game that incorporates working out with playing a video game. It takes the mechanics of other games, uses the kinect to see you, and then you follow the instructions and begin. The modes that have been shown off so far are push-ups, squats, ab crunches, and the piano step.
This game looks to be the first of its kind, and I hope that other developers will continue to pursue this kind of gaming, because Americans are fat keeping in shape has become a prevalent priority these days. Release date is set for Holiday 2014.
9. Little Big Planet 3 (PlayStation Exclusive)
If you are familiar with the LBP series, you know that this game is filled with hours upon hours of game play. Whether you’re completing the campaign or trying out new online player-made levels, this game is fun for the whole family, or with a girlfriend/boyfriend that might not play video games.
There are three new playable characters in the third installment of the game, that each come with their own perks, Oddsock, Toggle, and Swoop.
Release is set for Christmas 2014.
8. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege
This will be a brand new approach for the Rainbow Six series, and it looks quite spectacular from its demo.
The game play shown was a 5 vs. 5 multi-player game, that looked to be a hostage recover/defend scenario, in which one side is the tactical squad trying to recover the hostage, while the terrorists are trying to kill the good guys.
It looks like this game is attempting to be greater competition with the likes of Call of Duty and Destiny, especially considering that it will include various game modes, and offers a similar campaign style.
Release is set for 2015.
7. Let it Die (PlayStation 4 Exclusive)
This game is set in a post-apocalyptic world in the sandbox style, in which you level up by killing others and taking their gear, in addition to monsters or lootable locations.
The trailer didn’t really show us much aside from the leveling system, including different classes/races, armour and weapons upgrades, kill counts, bonuses, etc. From what I can tell, if you die in the game, you just lose all your items and respawn with nothing, but don’t take my word for it.
The game has been reported as a purely online game, but it has been stated tat it will work off a free-to-play model.
Release is set for 2015.
6. Bloodborne (PlayStation Exclusive)
This game has an eerie sense to it, and seems to be set in a Transylvania-like environment. The trailer shows the main character is a hunter of sorts, who is looking to find the cause of an outbreak that has been spreading. He also has a bad-ass meat cleaver sword and a shotgun.
The game is an action RPG, similar to that of Dark Souls. Oh, and there’s a fucking bad-ass monster right at the end too, and from the looks of it this will not be a walk in the park.
Release date is set for 2015.
5. Assassins Creed Unity
Set during the French revolution in 1789, the next installment of this series looks to be the best one yet, with all new game play, that also maintains a lot of the same game mechanics.
If you’re a die hard fan or new to the series, this game looks beautiful by its own right, and with potentially up to 4 player co-op from what we’ve seen on the demo, it might surpass the rest of the series.
Release is set for October 2014.
4. The Order 1886 (PlayStation Exclusive)
The new trailer released at E3 this year made this game look absolutely killer. With the game play and the cinematic scenes nearly at the same quality, and no loading screens between, the visuals and gaming experience on this game are absolutely next level!
The video shows a group of individuals looking to rid the world of flesh-eating humanoid reatures that can turn themselves into super beasts. This game looks it might make you shit a brick, and I could not be more excited.
Release date is set for 2015.
3. Halo 5 Guardians
The newest installment of the Halo series, shows that there is someone aside from the Master Chief who is looking for answers, and that someone is Agent Cloak.
It looks like the 5th installment will allow the user to play through 2 story lines that converge at some point during the game, with Master Chief and the Agent will duking it out to see who really is on top.Release date is set for October 2015.
2. No Man’s Sky
This game was a keynote at this year’s E3 conference, and arguably captured the attention of the entire crowd. With its amazing detail and environment, this game looks like it could be the best seller when it releases.
I don’t think I have ever seen or played a video game that has the same mechanics or structure that this one does. It allows you to openly play on a various number of worlds, and allows the ability to travel between them using a spaceship.
From the trailer it looks like there is an intergalactic war occurring, and your job is to save all the planets from being taken over or destroyed.
According to the developers it is being released on PlayStation only, but this could change. There is no release date as of now.
1. EVOLvE
From the team that brought you Left 4 Dead, comes this new first person shooter which involves four classes and one monster. The best part is you can play as the monster, and not just one monster, because that would be fucking lame.
No they are putting in a bunch, one of which we saw during E3, which is a FUCKING KRAKEN. There is another DLC character that can be pre-ordered called “The Goliath.” If that doesn’t get your blood pumping, then maybe you should see a doctor.
This game will have both single player campaign and the option of co-op, as well as multi-player. The four classes that are shown were a trapper, support, medic and assault.
