Sandra Kirilovic Reviews Some Past Miss Universe Canada Winners

[Ed. A little while ago, our girl Sandra Kirilovic made it through the preliminary GTA round of the Miss Universe Canada pageant and has once again qualified as a finalist for the Miss Universe Canada pageant this spring (thanks for the votes and all the support). So I'm convinced she's going to be MUC 2010, and asked her to give us some background info on previous winners]

Mariana Valente – 2009 – Brazil

Mariana is one of the most down-to-earth people I know. She is fun, kind, loves to laugh, and is very charitable. I remember one time on the bus Mariana stuffed a couple balloons into her dress to be funny. I took a picture. However, since she is my friend I am just going to keep that one in the vault.  Needless to say she is gorgeous- after all, she is Brazilian. After winning Miss Latina Canada a few years ago she began her own charity BASE (Brazilian Association for Social & Educational Support) for children. Becoming Miss Universe Canada has allowed her to expand and promote her charity. [Ed. Check out Sandra's interview with Mariana Valente]

Samantha Tajik -2008 – Iran

Samantha Tajik was MUC 2008. Before this, she was the International Model of the Year. I don’t know Samantha very well, but what I can tell you is that every time I have seen her she looks glamorous, like she is about to walk the red carpet. She is also represented by Flair Models. Which reminds me, I’d like to thank all those involved in making our Next Big Thing contest such a success! Expect some updates soon!

Inga Skaya – 2007 – Russia

I do not know much about Inga, but I do know these two things. First, who posted the picture for her Wikipedia page? Someone’s a bit jealous of Inga… Second, her national costume started a lot of controversy at the Miss Universe pageant that year. It was a Toronto Maple Leaf costume. Apparently Habs fans were not impressed. Let’s face it, the Leafs have had a tough few years. Don’t attack the girl for trying to build some spirit! The Habs didn’t make the playoffs in 2007, I think they were just a bit sour…

Alice Panikian – 2006 – Bulgaria

Alice is possibly one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen! Gentlemen, I refer you to a few of her pictures ^.

She placed in the Top 10 at Miss Universe 2006. She might be a beauty queen and a model, but she also has a great personality. Recently she ran to be Much Music’s next VJ. She didn’t make the top 10 in this show; but with her charisma, wit, and looks- I’m sure it’s only a matter of time until we see her on TV. Natalie Glebova – 2005 – Won Miss Universe – Russia

Natalie Glebova is every Canadian pageant girl’s idol! She won Miss Universe in 2005, up against a power house of Latin American women (they are like the Wayne Gretzky’s of hockey, the Michael Jordan’s of basketball, the Tom Brady’s of football, the Backstreet Boy’s of every girl’s wall in 1997…). I tried to add Natalie to Facebook once… now I know what it feels like to be rejected by a beautiful woman. Tough life boys. Tough. Sigh, but I still admire her. I also did one of those celebrity look alike things on the internet once and it matched me to her. Judges: wink, wink, nudge, nudge…
