Tech News: iPhone not just on Rogers…coming to BELL!

For all of you who have been stuck in 3 year contracts with Bell (and maybe lucked out with that unlimited data plan they had last year), this may be the greatest news you’ll ever hear:
What does this mean in the long run?
- Rogers will now actually have some sort of competition, which means everyone will probably see better rates
- Bell users can enjoy the new Bell 3G network and all its high-speed glory
- Bell users can also be cool now
Let’s take a quick look at Rogers vs Bell for a second (I’m typically a pro-Rogers person as much as I hate how much I have to pay per month):
Rogers has had the iPhone for 2 years. Bell has had…nothing that anybody remembers
Rogers has had the HTC Android-based phones for almost a year. Bell has had…again nothing.
Rogers then drops their $6.75 monthly access fee…in lieu of a number of other service fees equaling close to $6.75
Bell gets the Palm Pre. Bell gets the iPhone. Bell just got your soul for another 3 years, sucker.
The iPhone launches on Bell 3G networks starting in November. Get yo’ piggy banks ready. Thanks Engadget.

Telus gets it in January. $1 billion on service upgrades to cover newer GSM phones. Bout fu*kin’ time.
November for Telus too. Probably better rates than Bell. But iPhones are old and outdated. Unless you have a 3GS with a built in compass feature for an extra 300 bucks, then you’re cool… Thanks Apple…
