Mike Conway is in the hospital for evaluation after he survived a terrible crash on the final lap of the Indy 500.
He said his left leg was injured after he was finally extricated from the remains of his car. When you watch the video below, you will be amazed that he even survived.
His car literally goes into flight, crashing against the fence and then rolling around on the track until all that’s left of it is the main body. The rest of it was scattered across the track like airplane wreckage.
Before he crashed, Conway was trying to get ahead of Ryan Hunter-Reay, who later said he had run out of gas and had “nowhere to go.”
Hunter-Reay did not finish the race uninjured either.
In a previous accident, he bumped Dixon and tore some ligaments in his right thumb, for which he will have surgery on Monday.
